These animals have slender body, flat like a leaf or strip. Known as ‘flatworms,’ these animals are endoparasites, while few of them are free-living and aquatic. They have acoelomate and bilaterally symmetrical body. These organisms are also triploblastic with their body made up of three germ layers- endoderm, ectoderm and mesoderm. They are hermaphrodites with both the male and female reproductive systems present in the same animal body. Examples include Planaria, Liverfluke, Tapeworm and so on.
